Transitioning from classical training to the realm of Technics and machines, Sonja Moonear has crafted a dynamic career as a DJ and producer spanning over two decades. Renowned for her discerning record selection and a distinct flair for funky-leaning techno, trippy house, and top-tier beats, she made her mark in the mid-90s Geneva squat scene before becoming a resident at Weetamix, the city's key club for the subsequent blossoming days of electronic music culture.

Connecting with the minimal scene associated with the Perlon and Karat label, she collaborated with international artists and co-founded Junction SM alongside Dandy Jack. Her global presence includes performances at clubs and festivals worldwide. Notably, she restarted the vinyl-only imprint Ruta5 and organized events like the Kiss me! Festival and Cabaret fantastique. Sonja Moonear's multifaceted contributions continue to shape the electronic music landscape.
