Don’t even think about putting Sweden’s La Fleur into a box. For a start, she’s had too many twists and turns in her career to be edged into one particular corner. She actually started her working life as a pharmacist – but despite her acute understanding of laboratories, her passion was for an altogether different kind of mixing. “My choice of career came to a point where I had to choose - and I like the way it’s turned out!” It was an active choice to make music, after a trip to Berlin, she made the switch full time, both in her career and choice of home: she remains in Berlin to this day. Building on the success of the ‘Flowerhead’ EP, her key electronic releases so far have included the ‘Nightflow’ and ‘Arms Around’ EPs (remixed by Detroit legends Kenny Larkin and Carl Craig respectively), as well as remixes for both Kerri Chandler and Sasha. And at the start of 2018, the acclaimed ‘Exhaust’ was released on Adam Beyer’s Truesoul imprint, not to mention her recent Watergate EP ‘Outbreaker’. The Mixmag Breakthrough DJ Award at the end of 2017 was well-deserved. Highlights still to come include a debut at Oasis Festival in Morocco, a return to Warehouse Project in November, a new remix for Damian Lazarus & Ancient Moons on Crosstown Rebels and her first collaboration with Sasha set for release in October on Last Night on Earth.
